Case Study 2: Building a Consistent and Scalable Page design for All Post-Transaction Products

Our refund pages were inconsistent across different products. I conducted a comprehensive audit of all product flows and developed a unified page design that worked seamlessly for all use cases. This new design aimed to ensure consistency and scalability across the entire post-transaction experience. I also created all the presentation materials to communicate the design strategy to executive stakeholders, following a key research session.

Missions

Unifying Post-Transaction Experiences Through Design Alignment​

My mission was to unify eBay’s post-transaction experiences by correcting inconsistencies in component and page-level design and improving overall user flow.

Through the development of the Protection Library, I focused on creating a structured, scalable design system that aligned cross-functional teams around a shared set of standards. This system was built on three key pillars:

  • Specs for Developers

  • Templates for PMs

  • Components & Guidelines for Designers

By refining and standardizing the building blocks of the experience, I enabled teams to create Protection pages that were not only consistent and user-friendly but also aligned with the broader eBay design system.

To support collaboration and visibility, I also introduced a clear status framework for components:

  • Existing

  • In Progress

  • Planned

This structure helped manage expectations and streamlined the coordination between teams.

Ultimately, my work brought clarity, cohesion, and efficiency to the post-transaction experience—resulting in faster delivery and a more seamless user journey.

In accordance with my non-disclosure agreement, I won't be able to showcase the app interface design and core design system library that I produced. I will describe the process and outline my solutions in approaching the design problem. All information on this page allowed me to share with evading the core confidential information.
